Orientation

Trying to get used to this site.

Weirdness.

It’s like Twitter and Wordpress had a baby.

My submission to FYT.
fuckyeahtattoos:

Ikaros & his father, Daedalus, were imprisoned in Crete by King Minos.  In order to escape, Daedalus, a master craftsman, fashioned two pairs of wings for himself & his son, out of feathers & wax. Before they took off from the island, Daedalus warned his son not to fly too close to the sun, nor too close to the sea.  Once Ikaros took flight, however, the joy of flying caused him to not heed his father’s warning & when he flew too close to the sun, the wax melted, his feathers fell, and so did he, meeting his death in the sea.
This was my favorite story as a child & as a tree-oriented person, I opted to fashion my own wings from branches & feathers, as illustrated here.  I want to fly, but I know to check my proximity to the sun.
